Borderlands - What Are The Rules For The Music? When does the music change from state to state?

Hi all (and mr. Kyd)

I've been playing Borderlands for some time now and I tried to figure out, how the music was being executed. It seems, that there are two pieces of music for each area; an "ambient" piece that consists of one rather long loop and an "action" piece, that also is a loop. My guess is that, the action-loop is supposed to kick in (via a crossfade as far as I can tell?) whenever you encounter enemies, but it is as if it doesn't do this all the time? Some times it kicks in just before you kill the last bandit of a group. This seems rather strange I think, so I'm thinking that perhaps it is conrolled by ohter parameters? Perhaps how close you are to the enemy or how high the enemys level is compared to the players level?

If anyone knows how the music is executed I would very much like to know. Thanks in advance!

Anyone?

...I tried to look at it again and during this session, the action music seemed to start whenever I encountered enemies, more or less. So perhaps the behavior I mentioned above, wasn't intended?
